This is a unique course that offers you the time to deepen your own practice of mindfulness meditation while at the same time preparing you to offer a meditation course to others.

Of everything studied in the new age arena over the last 40 years, meditation consistently shows up as the most powerful practice for life long physical and mental health. Physical yoga has boomed in the west, yet meditation is still in its infancy. The exciting thing for yoga teachers is that we are standing on the precipice of a potential explosion in this field. However, it will take conscientious and dedicated teachers who passionately want to take this teaching to the masses.

The aim of this 90 Hour teacher training is two fold. 

Firstly, you will participate in a 4 day meditation retreat where you will dive into a powerful system of body, breath and mind based meditation. Built upon practices from both the Indian and Buddhist tradition, this simple yet highly effective system of awareness based meditation, offers a practice that is relevant and achievable in modern life. Your aim is to then implement these practices into your daily meditation for at least 6-12 months before starting to teach. 

Secondly, the remainder of the course focuses on how to effectively teach meditation to others. You will be guided through a programme called Calm Living that is taught as a 5 week meditation course.  On the weekend intensives you will focus on three core aspects as they relate to teaching mindfulness.

1.    Understanding and teaching the actual meditation techniques - 4 simple yet powerful mindfulness meditation techniques are explored, alongside other shorter practices.  This section focusses on the actual techniques as well as providing cues for teaching and languaging guided meditation.
2.    Understanding and being able to communicate the deeper theories and philosophies about mindfulness. 

3.    How to develop an effective teacher - student relationship.  This section focusses on such things as facing obstacles, answering questions, inspiring students, motivating practice and holding space for students.

At the conclusion of this training, not only will you have fallen in love with meditation, you will feel confident and ready to support your students down this life altering path for themselves. 

It is recommended that you have at least 2 years of regular meditation practice behind you before commencing this module.
