Description

 

This three day module offers yoga teachers simple and effective strategies to help plan and teach successful children’s yoga classes.

This course is open to certified yoga teachers from all schools and traditions, as well as certified child care and school teachers.  During the module, you will be guided through theoretical and practical components, covering topics including:

  • the needs of the children’s yoga class, compared to an adult class
  • key considerations of the growing child’s anatomy
  • catering for the different learning styles
  • successful strategies for class planning
  • teaching various age groups: early childhood, primary, teens
  • school programs
  • behaviour management techniques
  • logistics of teaching children’s yoga classes

Stacey has over 19 years experience in teaching children in various genres and contexts including: early childhood and primary education; fitness/ sports teams; dance; personal development; television production; yoga programs in schools; mental health and hospital.  She currently teaches at a well respected private school in Brisbane and is the yoga therapist at Royal Children’s Hospital and Nambour Hospital Children’s Ward. Beyond her experience, it is Stacey’s genuine love for children that shines in her teaching.
