Born and raised in North India, Porus has a strong Yoga background from India, practising Yoga for over 35 years and teaching Hatha Yoga full time professionally for the last 16 years.
At the heart of his teaching is an attention to therapy and detail of the body’s alignment. The Hatha Yoga classes are general level classes with special attention to postures that assist to strengthen the back, releasing the tension in the neck and shoulders; and postures that help strengthen the body with total flexibility. Correct breathing techniques are also taught during the classes.
He also teaches prop assisted postures, Chair Yoga and Wall Rope Yoga (Karunta Yoga) which is based on spinal traction and is very therapeutic for people with certain medical problems, especially back problems.
