I am 6.2 and am constantly readjusting myself on yoga mats or simply staning off of one end during poses. And, being a 90kg guy, I tend to swaet during class, and the constant squeeking and sliding all over the show motivated me to simply design my own mats.

So along with my partner we did some research, found a manufacturer tested out some different materials and eventually decided on using microfiber suede material for the top and natural tree rubber for the base. The suede is the best grip surface we found, getting grippier and grippier the more we sweat!

All the materials are safe and 'nasties' free (no pvc, phalates, chlorines ets) and hence don't smell horrendously (yes please!).

I also wanted a mat that was going to be a bit of an inspirational tool for myslef and others so I incorporated sacred geometry into the design of each mat. So now you can align yourself physically and maybe even mentally with the symmetry and beauty of sacred geometric patterns.

Ah, and, I was aslo sick of the shabby carry straps that came with each mat which was useful for nothing else other than carrying the mat, which would inevitably frey and break too. So I designed my own carry strap that double's as a very sturdy, thick and adjustable, stretching strap.

Well, we launched www.SPOREYOGAMATS.com about 2months ago and are in the process of getting our little name out there and we are looking for as much feedback as possible too.

Thanks for reading :)

P.S. if you'd like to see the rest of the mats please check out our site:
