Description

This January, leave your work cube, put the out-of-office message on and get off the grid – It’s time to get on your yoga mat and head to Thailand.

Pack your bags and hit the reset button in Koh Samui. Two daily yoga classes (a vigorous, powerful morning practice facing the beach, and a more restorative evening yoga class) will keep us energized and balanced throughout the week. We will have time to explore Koh Samui’s uniques offerings – wildlife adventures, snorkeling trips, island excursions, and much more keeping our days filled with yoga, fun and rest. There will also be opportunities to recharge the body, meditate by the pool and soak up some healthy Vitamin D at the beach outside our villa. This is our time to rest and reflect after a year of hard work, set our intentions and reconnect to the soul.

The group will be limited in size this year to provide a private retreat-like experience. There will be opportunities for hands-on teaching/adjustments to fine tune your yoga practice and techniques. It will be a unique opportunity to deepen your practice and shift your perspective on life. If this experience resonates with you, email Juan to reserve your spot on this amazing journey to Thailand.

Juan Gamboa is a power vinyasa instructor based in NYC.  He has been practicing for almost 15 years and teaching for 8 years.  He is currently a senior teacher at Pure Yoga NYC and at Sonic Yoga in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC.  He has taught and led yoga classes all over the world – Costa Rica, Manila, Monaco, Greece and now Thailand.  He stays forever grateful and deeply present in guiding his students through their practice, travels and off-the-mat adventures.

Before teaching yoga full time, he spent 15 years in Corporate America working in big pharma and in the biotech industry as a research scientist.  He also served as a research manager in a Wall Street investment research firm before he lost his job during the Great Recession.  This transition led him to teaching yoga to empower others to learn from their own transitions and transformations in life.

His classes are strong, dynamic and challenging with a focus on transitions and techniques.   He specializes in growing a student’s practice ensuring that the practice is meticulously designed with compassion, alignment and precision.   His philosophy:  The mat is a gateway to profound transformations.

He has been humbled over the years to learn from his principal teachers – Schuyler Grant, Dharma Mittra and Raghunath to name a few.  He continues to explore and geek out on all kinds of movement and meditation practices.  He teaches from these learnings; but most of all from his heart and soul.
