About the Retreat
During this retreat you’ll have the opportunity to shift your perspective in how you view your yoga practice, both physically and philosophically, to develop your practice to a level where you experience more freedom, working to your own true potential in a way that suits you as an individual in terms of your body structure. Then to explore philosophies and beliefs around practice which may be affecting approach, energy levels and capabilities both on and off the mat.
In the afternoons we will look at the body from a new viewpoint, as the observer looking from the outside, we can literally shift our perspective and then see more clearly what is going on structurally and then make adjustments accordingly. Exploring technique and alignment in workshops with intelligent, safe adjustments and partner work to bring ease and also aid a deeper understanding, we will also explore any beliefs which may be limiting and look at how to cultivate more freedom in our minds and hearts. Ending some afternoons with a deeply restorative / yin yoga class or guided relaxation/ yoga nidra and maybe some fun as well
During the mornings we will gradually build an initially guided and then eventually a self guided Meditation / Pranayama practice, (sometimes shifting our perspective to the beach to practice) following with a Mysore class to apply the techniques we have learned during the afternoon workshops to our own body and feel the adjustments with a better understanding of what they are doing and how they are applied ~ at the end of the retreat you’ll have deepened your understanding of Asana and if you already teach, it will enhance your skills as a teacher, to enjoy being a student again and a chance for all to be part of a group of like minded individuals.
This retreat is aimed primarily at those who already have a self practice ~ or if not, then a sincere desire to develop one.
If you can memorise the standing Asanas in the Primary Series sequence by heart, this will be of great help, or at least the sun salutations A & B and the Fundamental Asanas which will be a good base video here we can then focus on the topic together rather than learning the sequence
Look forward to meeting you!
