Ashtanga Yoga – A Breathing Practice
As Sri K Pattabhi Jois says: ‘Ashtanga practice is a breathing practice, the rest is just bending’. This retreat focuses on the foundation and the essence of the practice of Ashtanga yoga: subtle workings of the breath and how the practice is designed to guide us towards the state of meditation, on and off the mat.
The teaching is based on the core idea behind Ashtanga yoga: ’anyone can practice’, regardless of personal history, age, fitness level or background. In addition to deepening an established practice the retreat gives inspiration and practical tools to build up a daily practice, or re-establish a regular practice after a break.
This retreat is open to all levels from new students to advanced practitioners, and all students should be prepared to practice Mysore style. You will leave this retreat renewed, recommitted and rejuvenated.
