Description

Embrace and Embody your Strength, Wisdom and Change

Do you feel stuck in your life? Would you love to make some changes and not sure where to begin? This retreat could be the answer you’re looking for.

Imagine all your worries dissolve away as you land on the island of the Gods. Bali is rich with spiritual devotion, which is seen from the local people and felt through their kindness and devotion.

Bhanuswari, our venue, is located 20 min away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, in a small village. The feeling takes you back in time. You can see the locals carrying their ceremonial offerings, kids bathing in the local streams, both men and women making daily offerings with water, incense and prayer.

Nestled beside the rich green rice fields is where you dip into one of two swimming pools located on site.

Or enjoy your complimentary massage as you hear the distant sounds of the bird songs or gentle stream flowing.

You can just let go as you allow the richness of Bali to nourish your soul and feed your spirit. It’s not just a retreat but a way to expand your heart and mind from a place that touches the souls of all who enter this beautiful island.

From the morning meditation, breathing, mantras or asana, or the daily ceremonies we share with each element – going to the Ocean, a local water temple and being ceremonially blessed by a Balinese priest – you will surely not feel or see yourself or the world you live in the same.

We invite you to stand tall and reclaim your inner power and strength.

Each of us has a story that shapes who we are, yet limits us from who we can become. The power of our life reflects our beliefs, emotions, and thoughts.

We are changing at every moment. Tap into your inner wisdom and guidance and set a clear intention about what you wish to change in Bali with us.

This Retreat Offers:

Ceremonies, Meditation, Asana, Pranayama, Mantras, Journaling, Singing, Chakra awareness,

Sharing circles, and Emotional Freedom Technique (healing modality).

From the Tantric Yoga perspective, life is created from the union of opposites. These opposites are known as Shakti, which connects with the Divine feminine energy, and Shiva, the masculine energy which holds consciousness. Together they are the building blocks that create life on both the macro- and micro-cosm.

Our world currently is calling for a balance of these two energies. The Shakti energy needs to rise up and awaken to its full empowerment. It all begins within, through each individual.

This retreat invites women from all parts of Mother Earth to gather and unite our collective Shakti energies. When we accept and embrace our beauty, strength and wisdom we feel empowered, inspired and limitless. Now is the time to transform our pains into an opportunity to learn from our past and now stand tall to reclaim your Shakti energy and embody your inner Goddess.

Allow yourself to feel supported, nourished and connected so you align with your inner balance. From a place of harmony we tap into infinite possibilities, creativity and feel a connection with the Earth and all beings on her; what happens inside reflects the outside.

We call our Sisters of the world to join us, rise up and feel empowered. Your invitation is to unite in this collective celebration through wisdom, acceptance, diversity, peace and love on the island of the Goddess in Bali, Indonesia.

Facilitators:

Sequoia and Tara have known each other for 20 years and both have been teaching, studying and learning the deeper aspects of Yoga and the subtle bodies of the chakra system.

Sequoia Henning

Sequoia’s life journey has been a continual evolvement of her spiritual development through the study and ongoing practice of yoga and healing. In her teenage years, Sequoia began to secretly study esoteric knowledge, joining a regular study group on the topics of chakras, meditation and crystal healing. Her growing interest in yoga and sound therapy branched out at the fresh, young age of 21, as she adventured on her first of many journeys to India.

Her life has been, and continues to be, a consistent cultivation of her spiritual development from her personal experiences, practice and passionate, consistent study. Sequoia’s teachings are influenced by eastern mysticism, the yogic teachings, and our collective conscious connection to the elements.

Sequoia’s yogic journey began with the very disciplined practice of the Iyenger tradition. After years of practicing the Iyengar lineage, she cultivated her own personal practice and discipline, which organically transformed her asana practice into a mixture of the Ashtanga and Hatha schools. Now, she teaches the traditional practice of Hatha yoga incorporating space for inner awareness and witnessing, which allows one to deepen inner connection beyond the physical body. She often includes the practices of humming, kriyas, bandhas and pranayama into her asana classes.

Sequoia’s passion for life was heightened through a personal self-healing journey from an illness. Now Sequoia shares through inspiration, encouragement, and self-empowerment healing to encourage others to re-remember that the power to change stems from the inside out: it all starts by cultivating love for one self, taking responsibility and having gratitude for life.

In her spare time, Sequoia loves to climb mountains, sing, dance, and commit random acts of kindness.

The love of sound healing was also a calling Sequoia had to follow, and studied mantras with Mata Gi, one of the main singers, at Pramath nikatan in Rishikesh, India. Her love for healing sounds, Mantra and Nada yoga continues. Over the years she studied with Tom Kenyon, Mitch Nuir, Gina Sala, Lisa Murphy, and other teachers in India. She has been leading Sound healing journeys and workshops for over ten years.

In 2006, she completed a three-month intensive and received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Pyramid Yoga in Thailand

In 2008, she also wanted to learn more about the yogic breathing  known as pranayama, so she completed a one-month pranayama teachers training course with Shri.O. P. Tiwari at Kavaladhama yogic institute in India. The love for pranayama began.

Sequoia studied many different healing modalities, which allowed her to run a successful healing centre for eight years in Canada. She then got sick and healed herself naturally of chrons disease through the modalities she had been studying in previous years and applied them for her healing.

Regardless of what Sequoia is teaching her intention is always the same, to inspire and encourage others to listen to their inner wisdom within.

Sequoia taught with Tribe-yoga for 7 years offering international teacher trainings in India and Thailand.

In her spare time her passions include singing, ceremonies, climbing mountains, dancing, being in nature and commit random acts of kindness.

Sequoia now lives and teaches international yoga trainings, sound healing trainings and retreats. She shares her time between Bali, India and Canada.

Tara Esther Kleij

Tara is a yogini in heart and soul! Her spiritual journey started when she was a little girl back in 1970 when her mother moved with her to India to live in a spiritual community called ‘Auroville’, where meditation and yoga were part of daily life!

When her mother died at a very young age Tara moved back to Holland to live with her artistic father (Theo Kleij).

When she was 18 years old her father invited a yoga teacher (Clive Sheridan) to give yoga workshops at their house and that is when Tara’s yoga journey really began…

He inspired her to dive even deeper into the yoga, meditation and pranayama practice and she did many long retreats with him in the following years.

Later her journey led her to travel and study with many other great yogis and enlightened masters, mostly in India.

After wandering around the world and teaching yoga for many years, she finally settled with her partner (Inti) in Southern Spain in a community where they lived off grid and very close to nature in their self-made yurt, tipi and tree hut together with their 2 sons (Sky and Surya).

In 2006 Tara gave birth to her own retreats under the name SunfoodYoga. These Retreats are held in a beautiful natural place in the Alpujarra mountain area in Southern Spain, where the focus is on a natural raw vegan lifestyle and the yoga and meditation are in alignment with the chakras. Together with her highly skilled team she holds these retreats every spring and autumn.

Tara also gives regular Empowering Shakti Yoga Retreats in India, where she brings women in touch with their inner strength and True Essence.

In her retreats she inspires and empowers women (and men) to live in alignment with their true essence, inner wisdom, expand their consciousness and live a natural lifestyle in harmony with nature.

Tara is also a graduate of Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in Kerala and has studied yoga with BKS Iyengar and Dynamic Yoga with Godfrey Devereux. Her dynamic classes have a down to earth simplicity and invigorating power

Tara teaches now her own unique teaching style and makes the practice accessible to beginners as well as to advanced students, with variations and adjustments given according to needs. Tara’s warm and welcoming teaching style creates a safe place for you to explore yourself in all aspects of your being: body, mind and soul. You will not only progress in your yoga practice, taking skills and knowledge with you that you can bring to your mat time and again, but you will take a higher awareness of yourself that will resonate within all areas of your life.

Passport And Visas

You will need a valid passport to travel to Indonesia.

One-month visa upon arrival is given to most countries. If you are not sure please consult with your closest Indonesian consulate office. If you wish to extend your stay, plan ahead by purchasing an extra month visa at the airport before you collect your bags. If you do not purchase it at that time you have to leave the country to renew your visa. You can purchase a one-month visa upon arrival for an extra $30 USD (depends on what country you are from).

Money and Finances

The currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah. $10 USD = 120850 IDR. The Indonesia Rupiah can be confusing because there are a lot of 00’s!

Our venue is surrounded by nature and hence there is no ATM. It’s recommended that you take out /change money before leaving the airport.

Foreign currency can be changed at major banks and authorized money changers, which are all over Ubud.  It is good to carry small notes with you for taxis and tipping. Credit cards are widely accepted in major tourist areas.
