Srivatsa Ramaswami teaching in Australia for the first time
This is a rare opportunity for committed yoga students and yoga teachers to study with Srivatsa Ramaswami (a direct & long-term student of Sri Krishnamacharya) in Sydney.
This intensive 100hr programme includes 3 components:
1. 60 hrs of asana in 10 major sequences
Made up of more than 500 vinyasas in about 120 asana subroutines, each movement with the appropriate synchronised breathing will be taught. Those who undergo this programme will have learnt a wide variety of asanas and vinyasas with appropriate breathing to be able to adapt to individual requirements.
2. 20 hrs of Pranayama, mudras, yoga for internal organs
In this programme you will learn the various powerful yogic practices like pranayama and mudras and their effects on the internal organs including:
- heart and the circulatory system
- lungs and the respiratory system
- stomach and the digestive system
- bladder/kidney and the urinary system
- reproductive systems
- brain and the nervous system
3. 20 hrs of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
Krishnamacharya would tell his students to eschew all yoga practices that are inconsistent with the teachings of Yoga Sutra of Patanjali. It is essential for serious yoga students to make an in-depth study of the Yoga Sutras part of their practice. This programme will cover all the four chapters of the Yoga Sutra in detail.

The sequences are presented in a progressive order from easy to more challenging, they are available to the majority of students OR take the option of observing more demanding asanas demonstrated by fellow students.
In this programme there is a great emphases on ujjayi breath and bandhas.
8:30 – 10:30 AM – Vinyasa Krama Asanas
10:40 AM – 12:00 Noon – Pranayama, Mudras, and Introduction to Meditation
1:30 – 2:50 PM – Yoga Sutras
3:00 – 5:00 Vinyasa Krama Asanas

About the teacher:
Srivatsa Ramaswami is a senior and renowned International Yoga Teacher and a direct long-term student of Sri Krishnamachrya. Ramaswami studied with Krishnamacharya from 1955 to 1988. Starting his studies as a little boy, when his father invited Krishnamacharya to teach yoga to his disabled brother. Eventually he taught the whole family. Ramaswami developed an interest in yoga and continued to study all subjects of yoga with Krishnamacharya until his death.
He was also a founder trustee of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai. He has also published three books on Yoga – Yoga for three Stages of Life, Complete Book of Vinyasa Yoga and co-authored Yoga Beneath the Surface. He has been teaching 200 hour teacher training in Los Angeles for ten years. Srivatsa Ramaswami lives in the USA with his family.

Full payment for this workshop is required to secure your registration. Cancellations received prior to 24th March 2017, will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations received after 24th March will not be eligible for any refund. You may transfer your registration to another person at no cost, but please notify the program host in writing prior to the workshop date if transfer is required.
