All proceeds go to the Mudgin-gal Project at The Redfern Foundation
Friday 5th April
We bring our energy together in this donation- only practice on the first Friday of the month to show our devotion to worthy causes. Our teachers donate their time, the students donate as little or as much as they wish or have to give and whatever we raise goes to a charity. This is the true spirit of Yoga where we make our best effort to help those in need and do not underestimate any act of kindness. Join Julia in this class and all proceeds raised during April will go to The Redfern Foundation.
The Redfern Foundation was formed in 1998 to support the Aboriginal community in the inner city of Sydney. Their goal is to promote the creation of an Aboriginal community that is healthy, self supporting and a source of hope, pride and leadership both to its own members and for the wider Australian community – both indigenous and non-indigenous. They assist local community organisations that are operated primarily by and for Aboriginal people. Their aim is to help these key groups build the skills, strength and resilience they need to create sustainable, positive social infrastructure that in turn promotes social, educational and employment equity. The Redfern Foundation and the organisations they support are dependent on donations from the community and corporate sector, a mix of sporadic and limited funding from community, government and non-government sectors and the effort of unpaid volunteers and community members.
