Description

Santosha Yoga offers one of the most comprehensive Yoga Teacher Trainings in the world at unique destinations. Our Yoga Teacher Trainings are Yoga Alliance accredited at the 200 Hour, 300 Hour and 500 Hour level. Santosha YTTs offer value for money and are dedicated to making a difference in this world - one student at a time.

The 300 Hour course builds upon a Level 1 YTT 200 with the precise intensity to allow the student to delve deeper into the essence of  true meaning of Yoga, providing students with an incredible opportunity to build upon their existing knowledge and experiences.

Santosha’s Level Two Advanced Yoga Teacher Trainings are held only in India. Why? Because we believe that such a deeply delving, multifaceted spiritual journey should be undertaken on sacred land. By holding our advanced trainings in India, we go straight to the source of our yogic lineage and have an opportunity to connect spiritually, physically, culturally, and intellectually to the roots of our practice.

The method of our teacher trainings is ‘Multi-Style’ which focuses on a creative fusion of Hatha, Iyengar, and Ashtanga with a foundation drawing from the Krishnamarcharya lineage woven together with a vinyasa flow that is accessible to all levels and abilities.

The training is based upon providing the teaching concepts which allow you to build upon your teachings and practice safely attending to the individual needs as Yoga was intended. As in the words of Krishnamacharya “Yoga must be taught in a way which suits the individual, not in a way in which the individual suits the yoga.”

Our programs articulate a student’s personal practice as the birthplace for their inspired teachings, and includes a deeper view and understanding of the mechanics of fundamental yoga postures.

For students of a Level 2 YTT 300, Santosha believes that the course must provide not only a practical value of increasing ones teaching qualifications but most importantly provides the student with practices and experiences that focus on opening the door to the Self and take the student deeper in their understanding of yoga through direct personal experience and practical knowledge. Accordingly, all of our courses are open to all interested and sincere students, whether they are teaching or not.

The morning asana practice is included in all courses. Pranayama will be introduced to new students, while returning students will continue to build on their personal practice. The point is to focus on practices and to deliver new knowledge in anatomy and physiology, philosophy, and other related areas.

Students will:

• Study functional anatomy and physiology
• Explore Yoga’s philosophy
• Practice meditation and pranayama and asana
• Learn massage techniques which demonstrate that teaching & practicing yoga is an energy exchange
• Investigate the ancient science of Ayurveda and how this applies to Yoga
• Learn how to teach Pre/ Post Natal Yoga, Children and Teens Yoga
• Learn how to sequence intelligently and effectively
• Have the opportunity to undertake spiritual counseling with our one of senior teachers who is a Buddhist Monk so as to assist their journey.

Santosha Yoga and its teachers are amongst the most experienced in the world and honor every student as an individual and therefore unique and deserving of receiving the best quality experience possible. All of Santosha’s teachers and staff share experience  and knowledge from their hearts. Santosha is committed to creating a space of safety which is founded on interconnectedness, love and respect between  all beings that will acknowledge and allow each individual’s innate true nature, stillness, empathy and joy to grow through the process of learning the yogic principles.

The training is based on providing the concepts which allow you to teach and practice safely attending to the individual needs as Yoga was intended. As in the words of Krishnamacharya “Yoga must be taught in a way which suits the individual, not in a way in which the individual suits the yoga.”

This course is for those who wish to teach yoga as a career or those who are ready to embark on a personal journey of self enquiry.

For those who wish to teach, the Yoga training will provide the student with the confidence needed to teach yoga skillfully with compassion, awareness and knowledge. Those who do not necessarily wish to teach have an incredible opportunity to be with like minded people, come to know yourself like never before, connect to your true nature, feel happy and connected in your life and learn tools that allow you to move through life with ease.

Santosha does not place a prerequisite of yoga experience on our courses because we believe that the state of Yoga is not only available for all, but already exists within each of us. Thus a yoga journey is about reconnecting to this natural state of peace and happiness. However, it is important that each applying student has felt this calling to connect with themselves and is ready for a journey of reflection with an attitude of genuine desire to be immersed in this intensive daily program, has a commitment to be present and participate with sincerity, embrace a beginners mind and be brave enough to venture outside of their comfort zone.

At Santosha, we believe that one of our most important duties as yoga teachers is to reach out to these specialised groups of society along with support for all humankind - therefore facilitating the generation of positive change on the earth.

Santosha Yoga and its teachers honor every one as an individual and therefore unique and deserving of receiving the best quality experience possible. All of our teachers and staff share experience and knowledge from their hearts. Santosha is committed to creating a space of safety which is founded on interconnectedness, love and respect between all beings that will acknowledge and allow each individual’s innate true nature, stillness, empathy and joy to grow through the process of learning the yogic principles.
