Rebecca is a dedicated and passionate yoga teacher with special interest in pre and post natal yoga. She believes yoga is a moving meditation, where the breath guides the movement and keeps the mind focused on the present, as opposed to being past or future oriented. The emphasis in her classes is to move with mindfulness. In addition to yoga, Rebecca is also a registered nurse who has been working at the Royal Women’s Hospital in operating theatres for 15 years (on and off). She has taken time off to travel and has undertaken study in India in Ayurveda and yoga, and has also partaken in Natural Fertility Education in Melbourne. She has just returned from Bali where she spent a month studying yoga, and is full of inspiration for the life changing benefits of yoga and positive holistic health. Furthermore, Rebecca is a mother of two little boys so understands the dualistic joys and demands of parenting. Rebecca teaches an open level yoga class at MAMA, 6.30 – 7.30pm on Wednesdays (pre / post natal welcome!)
“There is no greater time to start practicing this than during pregnancy when the body is changing so rapidly, and is a temple for the growing life inside. It is such an important time to maintain connectedness with the body, and tune into the body’s intuition without the fog and clouds that the mind can often cast. Yoga is a medium to release the ego and make friends with your true self“.
Classes are $20 for casual sessions.
