Tricia Ryan, Yoga for Every Body

My classes are designed to suit everyone, regardless of fitness or flexibility. Vinyasa (systematic limbering of the body) is used in preparation for the Asana (Yoga postures) to help prevent injury.

Tricia's interest in yoga began in the 70's after the birth of her first child.  Over the years the influence of her yoga teachers' guided her in deepening her practice of yoga and implantedf the desire that she might one day pass this on to others.   "For a long time I had this impending thought  "This is all too good to keep to myself !"

Tricia formally studied yoga after her children were grown up and gained her diploma of teaching from the International Yoga Teachers Association.  Since then Tricia has been enjoying teaching 3-4 regular classes per week.   She taught at various centres throughout Brisbane in her earlier days of teaching, but now teachers just from her home.

Small classes are her preferred method of teaching, so that each student receives personal care and guidance as required.

Tricia has a keen interest and commitment to continuing study and deepening her understanding of yoga philosophy, as well as furthering her knowledge of the human body.   At the same time she acknowledges the importance for balancing her interest in yoga with time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren and importantly, regular time to "Be" within her own Stillness.  Tricia continues to attend yoga workshops and seminars and as well,  an annual retreat to replenish her Spirit.  Her most recent study has been in thei Alexander Technique, which has had a strong influence on her teaching method.

"I am always open to new ideas and fresh methods of teaching.  I enjoy translating what I have learnt in practical ways to my students' in the hope that it helps them navigate their own everyday lives."

I have an interest in teaching those who are looking for a more gentle approach than some general yoga classes provide.  Classes are suited to beginners, and also to those of a more mature age.
