Attracted by both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga, I have been practicing yoga since 1978. Since then enjoying yoga (Hatha, Iyengar, Somatic, Qigong) has been a regular part of my life. On moving to West End in 2011, I quickly became a regular at Zen Central and took the Yoga for Life training held in Sydney in 2013, with Peter Masters. In 2015, I completed the Yin Yoga training with Bernie Clark in Vancouver.

I like the element of balance that yoga brings into my daily life. As the pace of life increases, and life changes occur, there is often a loss of balance or a shock, and resulting stress. Regular yoga, working the body and mind in harmony, enables us to bring back balance, wholeness and to maintain our Wellbeing.

Okido yoga resonates with me because of its holistic and inclusive nature. Through working on self, you take that 'presence' out to your family, the community, and into the world itself.

My training in Yin Yoga further excites me because of its deliberate and meditative nature; its work strengthens the joints and deep connective tissue. Like Oki Yoga, the Yin Yoga develops an inner awareness of what is happening to your body in the pose. Furthermore, both styles of yoga share a focus on the energetic benefits associated with putting pressure on the main meridian channels.
