About Dan Fanthorpe
Dan has been practicing yoga for over 25 years and teaching for 16 years. He has a background in classical Hatha yoga, including Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, Meditation and Yoga Therapy.
Dan has been blessed by his teacher to teach the Ashtanga Yoga Method as set out by Sri K Pattabhi Jois and Sharath Jois. He is qualified as a Authrized level 2 teacher.
Dan spends most of his time in Newcastle, but travels back to India each year to spend time with his teacher Sharath Jois at KPJAYI in Mysore, India.
Dan also teachers workshops and retreats Internationally.
Dan believes that Yoga works on creating a balanced body to live in and a balanced mind to live with.
Yoga allows us to extract the Dharma (practice) from the Dramas in everyday life.
