Exploring Self Inquiry Meditation
When we have the idea to learn meditation there are often many questions. What is meditation? How do I meditate? What are the benefits? What can I expect? What technique should I use? How can meditation help me in my daily life? This course aims to help answer these questions and provide opportunities to meditate. Each week you will be guided through a meditation from the Yoga in Daily Life System and will explore concepts and philosophy that underlie the ancient science of meditation and yogic psychology of the mind.
The course is designed to introduce you to the benefits of meditation and provides a foundation practice based on Level 1 of the Yoga in Daily Life system. The guided meditations are aimed at developing awareness of body and mind, learning how attain complete physical relaxation, working with the breath as a gateway to meditation and opening to the process and experiences meditation can bring. Guidance will also be provided on how to get started with your own home practice.
A concentrated mind is essential to our meditation progress and for focus and clarity in life. The course will also look at increasing the ability to concentrate through the practices of breath attention, mantra repetition and visualisation.
Course time: TUESDAY’s 7.30pm – 8.30pm
1 hr classes: please arrive at 7.20pm for a 7.30pm start.
First Course $75 or $60 concession.
Second and ongoing courses are $50 for the 4 weeks.
