session 1: break down of the primary series addressing points and aspects of the practice as, while maintaining some flow of the series.
Session 2: softer practice with focus on some yin based sequences to help progress, balance and support the practice of the primary series. Included will be some pranayama and meditation practices and some yoga philosophy.
Session 3: led primary series again with intro into 2nd series and how 1st and 2nd series can work together to bring transformation. Instructions on how to modify 1st and 2nd series to suit different body types, students with injuries and limitations of the individual to bring about balance, harmony, and a love of practice.
Session 4: Yin based practice incorporating the ideas and understanding of yin and yang, shiva and shakti and the pendulum of opposites that plays out in our mind and body and how we can use our yoga practice (Asana-Pranayama-Meditation) to bring about a state of dynamic equilibrium. Includes pranayama and meditation.
Danny attended his first yoga class in late 1999 and has been practicing yoga consistently ever since. He completed his 18-month teacher training in 2003 at the Gold Coast Yoga Centre under the guidance of Cameron Storey, Mark Togni and Suzanne Gray. He continued on as a teacher at the Gold Coast Yoga Centre developing as a teacher and furthering his studies and practice.
Danny has been fortunate to work with some very inspirational teachers, Sri Pattabhi Jois, Glen Ceresoli Nicky Knoff, David Williams, Graham Northfield, Dena Kingsberg, Mathew Sweeney. He has mainly practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga over the years but has explored other forms of yoga such as Iyengar, Satyananda and restorative yin based practices.
Danny spent 6 months in Canada as a karma yogi at the Salt Spring Yoga Centre in the linage of Baba Hari Dass while teaching regular Ashtanga Vinyasa classes at the Ashtanga Yoga Shala on Vancouver Island (Canada)
With a keen interest in meditation practices Danny has had a regular formal sitting practice for the past 8 years and attends regular 7-10 day meditation retreats.
Danny also has a keen interest in Ayurvedic Medicine and Process Oriented Psychology.
Danny brings together the knowledge that he has gathered through his teachers and the years of dedicated practice to offer an approach to Ashtanga yoga that is balanced, transforming and insightful.
