Taught by principal teacher Yolande Hyde, this course aims to introduce the foundational principles of the theory of the 5 elements.
Five Element theory is one of the major systems of thought within traditional Chinese medicine and has been used for more than 2,000 years as a method of diagnosis and treatment.
During this course we will examine the theory as it is applied to Yoga asana, breath practices and meditation.
This course is taught as part of the current Yoga Teacher training program, one of the few subjects to be open to students who are not participating in the full course.
Completion of the course in 2016 will qualify you for exemption for those students interested in Yoga Teacher Training 2017 or stands alone as a course in itself.
This course covers:
- The philosophy behind the 5 element wheel
- The individual elements and their organ associations.
- The meridian channels
- Yoga postures for strengthen or release along these channels
- An introduction to diagnosis
If your looking for something to inspire your thinking and motivate you towards a more thoughtful and correction based practice then this is for you.
The course will be taught in an interactive style mixed with asana, discussion and inquiry.
I hope you can join us.
