Each month, our Friday evening classes will focus on a particular part of the body, taking the time to bring understanding with specific asanas for these areas.
May Focus – the spine and central nervous system
The spine forms the central axis around which the body moves. It is the core of the torso holding the skeletal position of all yoga asana and providing support.
It is central to all asana whether forward bending, back bending, lateral bending or inversions.
Within the spine the spinal cord is housed and from there all movement and action is initiated.
How can we understand yoga through the spine and the central nervous system and penetrate to that place to create and support our integration and expression?
