Join Rachel for an experiential 2 hour workshop during which you will learn and practice the ancient wisdom of the 8 limbed Path to a state of Yoga.
This precious knowledge has been gifted to us by Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Rachel will guide you in this inspiring model of practice and reflection – it will incorporate intelligent steps “Vinyasa Krama to Dharana”.
Dharana is the sixth limb and is often referred to as concentration, it is a preliminary state to meditation. The practice will use the tools of Yoga: asana (postures), pranayama (breath practice), mantra (chanting) and bhavana (visualization), leading you toward a state of Dharana meditation or one pointed focus.
Rachel has been practicing Yoga since the late 90’s and teaching for the past 9 years at her home studio, Ray of Light, in Bulli NSW. Following a trip to India in 2006, which changed her life, Rachel completed her teacher training with Katie Manitsas at the then Samadhi Yoga at Newtown in Sydney. Rachel has since built on this initial training with continued yoga training and Ayurvedic studies, both in Australia and in India. Rachel is a Yoga teacher, Yoga thearapist and Ayurvedic practitioner. Yoga and Ayurveda are her life long passion and Dharma. Rachel leads retreats to India and Bali annually, sharing the people, teachings and places that inspire and continue to guide her. Rachel is grateful to all the teachers that continue to guide her on the path.
