"You are as old as your Spine" (Chinese proverb). Do you spend hours at a computer desk? Is your breath optimal? Would you like to increase your vitality and mobility of spine, ease tension in back, neck and shoulders?
In this two hour workshop with Alexandra Rodrigues from Yatra Yoga we will explore the Five Tibetan Rites for healing, rejuvenation and longevity. Designed by the Lamas of Tibet, the Rites represent a system of exercises that affect the body, emotions and mind. The Tibetans claim that these exercises activate and stimulate the seven key chakras (energy centres within the body) that in turn stimulate all the glands of the endocrine system, responsible for the body's overall functioning and ageing process. Variations will be given to make these 5 Rites accessible to ALL body types and abilities.
We will also use the BackMitra, an ingenious yoga prop to unravel tension in your spine and bring space into your whole body. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, you will re-discover your spine! Mindful breath & experiential anatomy will accompany the duration of the workshop which will graciously end with a soothing restorative savasana and a closing meditation.
