Small Blessings offers you regular courses of average 9 week duration in which you are taken through a series of lessons in Pregnancy Yoga in the style of Kundalini Yoga.
You do not need to know anything about any sort of yoga to participate, nor do you need to have done yoga in the past. The classes are safe and beneficial for all stages of pregnancy.
Kundalini Yoga is special in that it is rich in teachings for pregnancy and beyond, offering us a cohesive way to stay fit and healthy in body, mind and spirit and enjoy our pregnancies more fully. A woman who has looked after herself well during pregnancy is naturally more prepared for birth and can enjoy the time afterward with more ease and confidence.
The course aims to strengthen, uplift, inspire and prepare you in body, mind and spirit . You will learn and practice, week by week, yogic movements and postures to strengthen you and prepare you for birth, but also relax and open your body, learning to breathe into it and let go of tensions. This can make your pregnancy but also the birth much more comfortable and enjoyable.
After a deep relaxation to integrate, each class I invite you to explore certain themes pertaining to pregnancy and birth, finding your own satisfying relationship to things, possibly opening up new ways of thinking and exploring various skills for a safe, empowered birth. I invite you to discover the resources that you already have within you and will need not just during birthing but throughout your journey of motherhood.
Most classes finish with a theme-based meditation.
