Weekend (5pm Friday to 3pm Sunday)
Spend a weekend on the farm!
So many today live such high velocity lives that to find a time and place to get your hands dirty, sweat, be in nature, feel its rhythms, and be in the company of other yogic minded people is definitely a rare thing indeed… Not to mention planting, caring for, harvesting and eating pure food!
The monthly Farm Project retreat can give you all of these things.
The work will vary according to your capacity. It can be hard yakka if you’re willing and able, but equally if this is not for you there are plenty of gentler tasks to go around. Age and fitness are not a barrier. Weather permitting, we spend both Saturday and Sunday mornings at the farm.
Arrival is Friday night for dinner and kirtan, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons you are free to join the daily ashram programs, enjoy the serene ashram atmosphere, or explore the walks of the natural bush surroundings. The bookshop will also be open.
If you have visited the farm in years past, you may be surprised by how much more land is now under cultivation. Regularly we now provide around 60% of our own food! Amongst our harvest we also have a flock of splendid hens providing us with our own eggs. If you are interested in running your own chooks we are happy to share our experience.
Brad manages the farm these days and has farmed organically in the area for many years.
Please bring practical working clothes (particularly footwear) While we do have gloves and some hats it is appreciated if you bring your own.
Please note: Children are encouraged but will not be catered for. They are the carer’s responsibility at all times, and carers are also expected to contribute to the needs of the day.
