In 1990 practicing in Shri K Pattabhi Jois’s yoga shala Mysore India, there were only 8 students in the room and I was one of those students practicing right next to Sharon Gannon and David Life. The direct teaching from Guruji was intense and empowering and I feel it was this experience for Sharon and David that prepared the ground, making it fertile for the conception of Jivamukti Yoga

Learning to Fly - Saturday 9/8 9am-12pm
The central feature distinct to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is the Vinyasa – the mind breath body synchronized journey into and out of each asana, this class will review Fridays nights introduction to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and then will focus on key techniques to develop a Dynamic and Fluid Vinyasa.
The Practice - Primary Series - Saturday 9/8 3-5pm
Chikitsa or the Primary Series as it is commonly known, is the beginning series of yoga asana, with the intention of this series being, to restore health to the 'Body-Mind', it is therefore the Grounding Series Introducing Tristana (the three stabilizing techniques / focuses of ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Bandha, Breath and Dristi) The class will bring the whole group together as ‘One’ – One Mind, One Breath, One Body, Synchronously flowing as One Consciousness... A Movement Meditation.
The Practice FullVinyasaCounted1stHalfSecondSeries - Sunday 10/8 9am-11.30pm
Full vinyasa counted of the first half of the Second Series. Each posture is counted and instructed. Depending on student level and attendance the class will continue with the second half of the Second Series or finish with the second half of the Primary Series.
Becoming Whole - Sunday 10/8 3-5pm
This Final class will review the techniques presented and areas of the practice that John feels require further attention, and to close John will then guide the group through a basic Pranayama session leading into silent sitting / Meditation.
