Course Information

Course Delivery

The course will be delivered over a period of 14 months. It will consist of  weekend training intensives, ongoing mentoring, a requirement to attend at least 2 yoga classes per week, and one Vipassana.

Training Intensives/Classes

Each weekend over two days, students of Inner Cor Yoga Academy will come together with Swami Prema Ananda in a classroom environment. In coming together with Swami and other students, there will be an opportunity to strengthen your knowledge and consolidate your learnings through discussion, and further teaching.

As a student of Inner Cor Yoga Academy, you will be mentored by Swami Prema Ananda. This means that in addition to her teaching at the training intensives, she is available to you to offer assistance, insight, academic support and yogic wisdom. She will be contactable during agreed hours via email and phone.

Regular Yoga Attendance

Students of Inner Cor Yoga Academy enrolled in the Diploma of Yoga are required to attend at least 2 yoga classes per week. This will enhance your yoga asana, as well as provide a unique learning experience as you begin to lead classes (under supervision for those in Inner Cor Yoga classes only).

Your regular yoga classes may be taken with Inner Cor Yoga, or with another Yoga studio. All students are required to have their teacher sign off on their yoga class attendance which is the sole responsibility of the student. If your classes are with another Yoga studio, please ensure your teacher is willing to sign off on your attendance.

As a part of your training, and in addition to the training intensives, you must participate in a Vipassana. Vipassana means to see things as they really are and is one of India’s most ancient techniques of meditation.  It is a crucial component of the Diploma of Yoga, and in the opinion of Inner Cor Yoga Academy, a necessary experience for all yoga teachers to have had. It involves 28 hours of silence and meditation, challenging both mind and body.
