My passion for yoga began through many years of meditation, self enquiry and studying the many ancient traditions on enlightenment. I first developed the thirst for spirituality and enlightenment at a young age. I feel that human beings are not aware of their immense potential and part of this is simply because they have not been taught how to recognize and awaken this capacity. I passionately believe in the ability of yoga and pure awareness to bring health, healing and incredible happiness to modern society.
I have a varied background having worked for many years in the corporate world of criminal law and later business marketing. I bring a rounded view of life to this course, understanding the very real need to adapt the ancient teachings of yoga to modern life. I have studied yoga in Australia, Europe and India and have taught many intensives and retreats on yoga, meditation, awareness and the art of living.

Vanessa Rudge
Vanessas' first yoga class with Erich Schiffmann in 1993 was a defining moment, which awoke an incredible desire to teach and share yoga. During the next 7 years she devoutly practiced various yoga styles including Iyengar (with Nicky Knoff) and Astanga(with Graeme Northfield). Her own style of teaching vinyasa (flowing) yoga gradually emerged. Her emphasis is on using postures, breathing and meditation to liberate the body and mind of stresses and tensions and thereby reveal the radiant heart of love, joy and freedom. Her most recent teaching inspiration comes from Shiva Rea and Twee Merrigan who teach an evolutionary style of vinyasa yoga.
Vanessas' background includes raising two children, traveling and studying yoga in many parts of the world including L.A, U.K. and India and also running a busy yoga centre in Coolum and Maroochydore. For many years she has specialized in pre-natal yoga and has also facilitated numerous workshops and retreats on yoga and awareness.
