About the Retreat
Enjoy a relaxing and educational week of yoga and nutrition at Koh Samui’s best loved retreat center.
Add not just years to your life, but life to your years, by learning how to properly fuel yourself with healthy, hearty, whole foods. From wherever you are beginning in your journey to health and wellness – whether you are just taking your first step, or have been walking (or running!) this road for some time – we are pleased to be able to guide you on the path towards your optimal health, wellness and well being.
This week’s retreat will be led by experienced yoga teachers Tracy & Amy, trained extensively by Paul Dallaghan and Sri. O.P. Tiwariji.
Discover morning intention and contemplation, followed by breath work and pranayama from the Kaivalyadhama & O.P. Tiwariji tradition. Our role is to enable students to learn asana (poses) and vinyasa (movement) with breath based on a liberal approach to Ashtanga Vinyasa. We offer modifications as needed for different asanas (both seated poses and training poses) and encourage yoga therapy to help bridge any gaps which need extra care. All ages and levels of students are welcome.
This is a chance for you to either begin the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, or to improve on and expand your existing practice. We invite you to go deeper and experience insight into the nature of your individual body, breath and intellect during practice.
Afternoon’s will be educational and fun, with the chance to build a strong nutritional foundatIon for your diet. After the education sessions we will offer Restorative and Yin Yoga – a relaxing way to finish the day. The Nutrition sessions will start to tease out all of the conflicting nutritional information that you have been bombarded with your whole life, to give you clear, practical, easy ways of incorporating healthy eating and foods into your daily life. See the quality of your life get exponentially better by allowing nutritional medicine into your life – as Hippocrates said, “Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food”.

In keeping with finding balance, this health retreat also includes a complimentary boat tour of the outlying islands and plenty of time for exploring the beaches and cultural highlights of Koh Samui. Alternatively you can relax on the beach or enjoy massage from our on-site wellness center.
ABOUT THE TEACHERS
Tracy has spent the last five years in the healing arts world, learning and then teaching cranial-sacral and polarity therapy for helping to balance whatever is “stuck” or “off” in a person’s system. Yoga and pranayama seem to work in much the same way, helping us to remove energetic and physical blockages (“granthis”), to get clean and clear. Tracy has a personal practice of Ashtanga yoga for 10 years, pranayama for four, and has been teaching yoga since her Centered Yoga TT in 2011 with Paul Dallaghan. Tracy is a Clinical Nutritionist, oversees all of the detoxes and health programs at Samahita Retreat. She definitely believes in the wonderful power of detox to restore dramatic health and healing, having ameliorated her own thyroid autoimmune condition (Hashimoto’s thyroiditis) with detox, yoga and pranayama – the triumvirate of cleansing, healing, life-giving modalities. bio
Amy has been teaching at Samahita Retreat since 2011, where she continues to work closely with students from around the world. Her intention is to empower students to create their own sustainable practice built on the foundations developed by Paul Dallaghan and Sri. O.P. Tiwari. Amy combines teaching with her role as Assistant Managing Director.
Amy studied acting and theatre in London and has been living in Thailand for seven years, working as a freelance writer for magazines, focused on wellness and travel. She has two young daughters. Amy lives her life immersed in raising children, teaching and the biggest practice of all; learning how to live yoga. finding balance and joy through all of life's many adventures.
