About the Retreat
We look forward to welcoming you to Samahita for our 7 Days to Vitality: Cleansing & Yoga Retreat! Detoxing is great for those in a transition in their lives. It provides clarity to make major life decisions and/or start on a more positive path that honors YOU and what is right for you in your life.
Detox is great way for releasing “shtuff” – that tired old baggage that is holding you back from the truest expression of your innermost being, your authentic Self, and your divine potential. When you detox, you consciously call into your life what you WANT and release what doesn’t serve you!
It also cleans you out, helping to kick off a new healthy lifestyle, clearing yourself of internal garbage, or ameliorating a period of overindulgence and negligence of your Sacred Temple: your body!
On this retreat, you will learn the yogic practices of asana (physical postures) and pranayama (breathwork), which are great tools to help you find balance in your life and body. These practices are a deep purification of the nervous system, bringing the body back to a state of balance by managing the internal pressure. They work on a physiological, emotional, mental and psychological level. And they give you that wonderful yogi glow! We will help you build a self-practice that you can take home with you. Consider it a gift you give yourself.
For the detox part of this retreat, you will start off by filling in a pre-detox questionnaire before you arrive. Based on your questionnaire, we will put you on the detox program that is best for you. Your detox is included in the price of your retreat tuition, and includes: seven full days worth of detox supplements, three meals and a snack for seven days, and one liver flush.
If you would like to add treatments to your detox plan, you are welcome to add on the Basic Package, including 1 colon hydrotherapy (definitely recommended when detoxing), 1 far infrared sauna treatment, 1 chi nei tsang (abdominal massage), 1 body and soul treatment (a massage), and 1 detoxifying scrub; OR the complete package, including 3 colon hydrotherapies, 3 far infrared sauna treatments, 3 chi nei tsang, 3 body and soul, and 1 detoxifying scrub.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS
Tracy has spent the last five years in the healing arts world, learning and then teaching cranial-sacral and polarity therapy for helping to balance whatever is “stuck” or “off” in a person’s system. Yoga and pranayama seem to work in much the same way, helping us to remove energetic and physical blockages (“granthis”), to get clean and clear. Tracy has a personal practice of Ashtanga yoga for 10 years, pranayama for four, and has been teaching yoga since her Centered Yoga TT in 2011 with Paul Dallaghan. Tracy is a Clinical Nutritionist, oversees all of the detoxes and health programs at Samahita Retreat. She definitely believes in the wonderful power of detox to restore dramatic health and healing, having ameliorated her own thyroid autoimmune condition (Hashimoto’s thyroiditis) with detox, yoga and pranayama – the triumvirate of cleansing, healing, life-giving modalities. bio
Summer started her yoga journey in Doha, Qatar in 2010, where she was teaching English to kindergarteners at an international school. After attending her first yoga class, she immediately fell in love and has been dedicated to her asana practice ever since. She discovered Ashtanga vinyasa yoga in 2012. Also during this same year, Summer started Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka. She spent time in Myanmar in early 2013 visiting various temples and holy sites with other Vipassana meditators.
At Centered Yoga in June 2013, Summer received her yoga teacher training certification with Paul Dallaghan. It was during this time that she was also introduced to Pranayama in the Kaivalyadhama tradition and was fortunate to study with Paul’s teacher, Sri O. P. Tiwari.
Summer is grateful for the amazing opportunity to work at Samahita, teaching yoga and meditation, continuing to grow in her own asana and pranayama practice, and continuing to learn from her teacher Paul Dallaghan, her fellow Samahitians, and the students and guests here.
She firmly believes in taking her yoga off the mat by practicing kindness (ahimsa) towards herself and others, and spreading love through smiles and hugs.

The Daily Schedule
The morning yoga sessions are from 7:15-10:00 am and will consist of some seated meditation, kriyas (cleansing practices), pranayama (breathwork), and asana (physical postures). We will open the day together with some chanting and contemplation, do some of the kriyas and learn three types of pranayama. The asana class will be a led Ashtanga class moving towards a Mysore style classical self-practice. We will work with each student and tailor the practices to suit their bodies and current needs. Beginners and all levels are welcome!
The afternoon session will consist of an hour discussion around a topic to do with detoxification (i.e. what is detox, how to detox, benefits of detox, detox tools that you can take home with you, how to detox in your life, etc), followed by an hour of restorative yoga.
