Start the day watching sunrise on the beach before meditation, breath work and tailored yoga classes. All levels will be catered for whether you have a regular practice, dabbled a little or only thought about trying yoga. Each individual will be given the support and attention you need whether completely new to the mat or a regular practitioner. The focus will be on enjoying the practice and learning how to use it intelligently to support your life. We’ll go back to basics, tuning in to the breath, checking in with the distractions of the mind, moving the body with focus and flow in the mornings and winding down the day with restorative and deep relaxation in the afternoons.
You will learn a basic Ashtanga-based yoga practice from scratch, or have the opportunity take your own practice even deeper, with the focus being on practicing with awareness and intelligence. Each class will build on the previous to help you, over the course of the week, develop a self-practice you can take home with you. You will also learn some basic breath work and mindfulness techniques to calm the mind and nervous system.
Love Food & Yoga workshops are designed to educate on how to enjoy food intelligently and how to eat and practice for your body type, climate and season, based on the principles of Ayurveda. You will discover how to enhance your energy through food that suits your own body type. You will get to enjoy the healthy, delicious food on the Samahita Retreat buffet. Great emphasis is placed on the importance of food at Samahita Retreat. It serves a dual purpose of healthily nourishing the body and mind while also delighting the senses through great taste and variation.
The retreat also includes a boat tour of the outlying islands and plenty of time for relaxing and exploring the beaches and cultural highlights of Koh Samui.
The program begins at 5pm on the first day of the retreat with a group welcome and departure is at 12pm on the last day.
