Description

Join Jessie Chapman for an inspirational yoga retreat in Tuscany combining dedicated twice daily yoga with beautiful guided walks and cultural tours, pre lunch core strength classes, evening yoga nidra, inspiring sightseeing and wonderful regional food. This is your time to relax, develop your yoga practice and be inspired by beautiful Tuscany and all that is offered.

We stay 7 nights at Villa Benvenuti, a beautifully restored 17th century Villa perched on the hillside outside the medieval city of Lucca (the home of Puccini) with stunning gardens and views, olive groves and vineyards, pool, in-house massage & holistic treatments and lots of areas inside and out to enjoy relaxing in.

Our daily schedule:

7.00 am: morning yoga with Jessie Chapman
9.00 am: fresh juice and delicious buffet breakfast
10.30 am: depart for one of our inspiring walks or daily excursions
1.30 pm:   pre-lunch core strength class / restoration yoga or meditation
2 pm delicious home cooked vegetarian Italian lunch
3.00 pm: guided walk / enjoy an in-house massage / simply rest
6.00pm: afternoon yoga with Jessie Chapman
7.30 pm: delicious home cooked vegetarian Italian dinner
8.30 pm: yoga nidra - a guided lying down relaxation for a good nights sleep

Group pick-up and return transfers to and from Lucca Train & Bus Station
Morning and afternoon yoga with Jessie Chapman
All delicious vegetarian meals & juices (excluding one lunch & dinner mid-week)

As well as all the yoga and guided walks we do each day there are a selection of optional activities & excursions available to book onto during the retreat including a guided history tour of Lucca and cycling around the walled city; a day trip to walk the world heritage Cinque Terra; a visit to the nearby Thermal Spa to experience the healing waters & therapies; a guided tour of Lucca's historical Villas & Gardens; an in-house Tuscan cooking class; an inspiring Wine Tasting & Villa Tour; in-house Italian language class; an evening out in Lucca to hear a Puccini Opera; Guided bike riding around the beautiful Tuscan hills on quiet roads & more...

About the yoga: Yoga is taught by Jessie Chapman who's inspirational Vinyasa / Hatha & Restoration Yoga classes are designed for all levels from the complete beginner to the more experienced practitioner. You are given lots of individual attention and adjustments in the classes and everyone is well looked after.

About the locations & accommodation: The Villa located 30 minutes from Pisa and 1 hour from Florence. Everything at Villa Benvenuti has been arranged with nature and simplicity in mind with traditional terracotta tile flooring and wooden beams, simple and elegant furnishings and beautiful outdoor living spaces. The grounds are extensive and lush with both formal and informal garden areas. There are several grassed terraces for enjoying the beautiful vistas, a secret garden waiting to be discovered and a swimming pool set away from the house amongst olive groves and oak trees.

About the food:  Our retreat menu is vegetarian with delicious healthy meals based on what is in season and the  region’s specialities. As we are in Tuscany, we do indulge in organic cheeses, pasta, breads, wines and other delights, and so this retreat is not a strict cleanse but offers plenty of healthy choices. Food is organic where possible and sourced from the Villa’s vegetable garden or from local producers. Wine, olive oil, herbs, vegetables & fruit are all produced in abundance on the estate and provide the essential ingredients for our deliciously fresh, vegetarian meals, cleansing juices and herbal teas. Special dietary requests can easily be catered for so just let us know when booking.
