About the yoga: Yoga is taught by Jessie Chapman with the assistance of the experienced Radiance facilitators. Jessie's inspirational classes are designed for all levels from the complete beginner to the more experienced practitioner. Yoga assistants give lots of individual attention and adjustments in the classes so everyone is well looked after. Guests are free to join in as much or as little of the retreat program as they choose knowing this is their retreat and aiming to get out of the time what they came for.
About the location & accommodation: We stay at Sangsurya Retreat, a beautiful 10 acre ocean views eco retreat based 3 kilometres from Byron Bay with a large wooden floor yoga hall, ocean views ozone swimming pool, a relaxing dinning and lounge area with coastal views, a beautiful nature trail, in-house massage & spa treatments and abundant bird and wild life. Accommodation is lovely hand built houses and cabins, each with their own unique flavour, that surround the yoga hall, dining room and pool. All rooms have aircon and most have their own ensuite bathrooms. It takes most people 25 - 30 minutes to walk to town from the retreat and 25 minutes to walk to Tallows beach. Most guests choose to immerse themselves fully in the retreat and only leave the retreat for the guided beach and nature walks however if you wish to explore Byron Bay and more of the beaches during your retreat you may like to hire a bicycle. About the food: Our meals are lovingly prepared using fresh organic ingredients mainly sourced from the local area. The menu is abundant, delicious and healthy. This is not a fast so you won't go hungry, however we cut out meat, dairy foods, wheat, sugar, overly processed foods, coffee and alcohol so your body will be lightly cleansing. Each morning after yoga we sip a fresh healthy juice before our abundant buffet breakfast. Lunch is another delicious meal and dinner nutritious and healthy. Teas and fruits are available throughout the retreat as well as purified drinking water. By the retreats end you'll be feeling energised, clear and nourished and you'll have lots of recipes and ideas for continuing your healthy eating at home.
Check-in and check-out: Guests start arriving to the retreat from 9am on the first day. A buffet lunch is available between 12.30 and 3pm and our first yoga class and group welcome is at 5pm. Due to flights, etc, people arrive at all different times on the first day however aim to arrive at your soonest to get the most out of your retreat; to settle in, relax, swim, have a massage, a walk, etc. The retreat ends after monring yoga and breakfast on the last day at around 10 am however feel free to stay longer at the retreat and enjoy the pool and facilities. If arriving a day early the check-in time is anytime from 12 noon
How to get here: if travelling by plane details re easy bus transfer to Sangsurya Retreat from the nearest airports are given upon registration. Bus transfers are available from Ballina Domestic Airport (25 min from Sangsurya Retreat), Coolangatta International Airport (1 hour from Sangsurya Retreat) or Brisbane International Airport (2 hours from Sangsurya Retreat).
