The Moksha Academy of Yoga (RYS200) provides the Nationally Recognised and Internationally Accredited RYT200 Yoga Teacher Training Course, Accredited by Yoga Alliance. We provide a thorough, practical, comprehensive, holistic, integrative and in-depth Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) Course that honours the ancient practices and traditions of Yoga yet blends with a modern western focus.

Successful Graduates are automatically eligible for Yoga Alliance membership which means that your training is recognised globally and subsequently allows you to teach anywhere in the world!

About the Course

This course is designed for the serious, dedicated Yoga student who has a passion for the teachings and practices of Yoga with a desire to share this with others. The YTT course integrates an applied and practical approach to the following key areas:-

We believe that a thorough understanding of the above key areas is imperative to the modern Yogi, deliberately intended for these ancient teachings and traditions to be delivered to the modern world. This approach provides our Graduates with the opportunity of entering the world of Yoga Teaching harnessed with confidence and a wealth of knowledge in order to provide a high standard of teaching to prospective students.

Practical Teaching Experience

It is essential that Teacher Trainees receive practical hands on teaching experience throughout the course. This is offered in order for you to apply and integrate the theory and practice of your Yoga studies into the class environment with confidence. Therefore, as a YTT at Moksha, you are eligible to be mentored and subsequently teach Yoga classes to members of the public with supervision.

Teaching Insurance as a Teacher Trainee

Furthermore, the Moksha Academy of Yoga is a recognised provider of Yoga Teacher Training within Australia and therefore successful applicants are instantly eligible to apply for Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance as a Teacher Trainee to cover you whilst you teach under the supervision of a qualified Registered Yoga Teacher.

UNLIMITED FREE Yoga Classes

As a Teacher Trainee at Moksha, you are provided with Unlimited FREE Yoga Classes at the Moksha Studio for the duration of your course as a way of supporting you to deepen your existing practice. You are also provided with discounts in attending the Moksha Intensives and Master Classes which continues into the membership of the Moksha Academy of Yoga Alumni. In our experience, whilst you undertake your studies with us, the Moksha studio becomes your hOMe away from hOMe, and we encourage you to make the most of this opportunity and attend as many classes as you are able during this important time.

Lecture Notes

You are provided with extensive, up to date, thoroughly researched lecture notes for each unit that includes a range of Yoga research study papers to support the subject criteria where necessary.

Lecturing Faculty

All members of the lecturing faculty at Moksha are dedicated, passionate, committed and highly skilled in their individual fields and are chosen to deliver the units and modules that are most in-line with their training and experience of Yoga and their other complimentary academic studies.

Primary E-RYT-500
Emma Mason-Palmer, E-RYT-500, Founder, Principal Teacher & Director of Studies has been practicing Yoga since 1998 and Teaching Yoga since 2003 having studied Yoga in both London and Australia.  Emma is a recognised Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and has completed a minimum of 500 hours of formal Yoga Training, Reiki Degree Levels 1 & 2, completed 3 years of the Bachelor of Health Science Degree (Naturopathy, SSNT), is a Member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and has taught a minimum of 3,000 hours of Yoga since graduating in 2003.  Emma has taught Yoga full time since 2004 has been a respected lecturer within the Yoga community since 2004.  

Student Pre-Requisites & Entrance Requirements
To be accepted onto the Moksha Academy of Yoga RYS200 hour program, each student will need to have completed a minimum of 12 months consistent, dedicated Yoga practice under the guidance of qualified Yoga Teachers and provide a log of their Yoga Class/Course participation for that period.  Students wishing to participate in the RYS200 Course may be required to attend an interview to evidence their current practice and level of experience.

Students must also demonstrate:-

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • A genuine and compassionate nature
  • A mature and responsible outlook
  • A dedicated willingness to commit yourself to your Yoga Studies and establish a consistent Personal Yoga Practice incorporating all 8 Limbs of Yoga

General Entry Requirements
To be eligible for general entry to the course, applicants are required to demonstrate:

An interest in, and commitment to, Yoga & Holistic Health
Dedication and commitment to their Yoga studies
Effective interpersonal skills and communication
The appropriate level of maturity and motivation

2. Teaching Methodology

This module includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, and the qualities of a Yoga Teacher, the students' process of learning and business aspects of teaching Yoga. The components of the Teaching Methodology units have been integrated within the Techniques Training/Practice module and are also applied in the Yoga class environment. In addition, we have created the YTT Public Yoga Class that provides the opportunity for Teacher Trainees to create and deliver class plans in a public yoga class prior to Graduation.  .

4. Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers

  • Introduction to Devangari Sanskrit - Terminology & Pronunciation
  • Introduction to the Sacred Texts of Yoga

5. Practicum

This module includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing/giving feedback, assisting students in a public Yoga class taught by a qualified Yoga Teacher.
