The Yoga Den
The School

The Yoga Den school offers small personalized beginner and intermediate classes.

The School is named after the word Den. A Den is a quite place where one is able to find solitude. The Japanese character that represents The Yoga Den states "The Way"

The Yoga Den School will teach you "the way" of moving the body and limbs with a variety of teaching methods and styles. This will ensure that there is a class suitable for you.

What will be taught

Denis teaches a method of  Hatha Yogasanas (movement of the body and limbs) in a coordinated fashion with ones breath. The word Hatha is derived from the bija mantra stating ham meaning sun and tham meaning moon. The two opposing energies inherent in all. These two energies need to be balanced for any individual to become well grounded
The method taught with the Yoga Den focuses on a slow long and steady inhalation and exhalation through both nostrils, and a slight friction held at the base of the throat as well as a slight grip held by the abdomen. This form of breathing is called Ujjayi (victorious breath), also known as the whispering breath. The focus of Ujjayi is to assist in the correct regulation of breathing and heating of the internal body.

With regular practice of the Yogasanas and a continuous focus on the breath, your body will become strong yet supple and steady. Your focus will start moving inwardly, assisting the mind to become quiet.
