Kalari Healing Centre is dedicated to healing mind body and spirit, and the promotion of Kalari in Australia. We offer massage, yoga, art therapy, meditation, counselling, ayurvedic consultations, ayurvedic foot massage, healing touch and tarot card readings. 
We also offer courses in Uzhichil Healing as well as weekly classes in Kalaripayyattu.

The Kalari Healing Centre, in affiliation with Dharmikam Ashram in India, has been established to provide quality alternative healthcare through the practice of an ancient healing and martial art system from Southern India called Kalari. This is a traditional name which encompasses a natural healing system called Kalarichikilsa and a martial art called Kalaripayattu. There are records of Kalaripayattu being practised as far back as 4 BC, making it one of the oldest martial arts in the world. Kalarichikilsa was developed out of a need to treat and heal the injured Kalaripayattu warriors.

Hatha Yoga - Beginner/General Yoga with Caz

It does not matter if you have or have not practised yoga before. Each pose or asana can be taken to your own level. Yoga teaches you to listen to your body, and work within your own capacity. When holding the yoga postures we learn to combine the mind, body and breath developing awareness and focus. 
Each class finishes with a relaxation or meditation.No experience or flexibility is required. Yoga is for everyone.

Utkatanga / Strength and Balance Yoga with Denis

A 6 week course will be offered with the teaching of  Utkatanga / Strength and Balance (Utka means Powerful and Anga are the limbs , or body).

Over the 6 week duration classes will be based on the fundamental steps to strengthen the body, whilst ensuring that through the twisting and folding movements of the poses tensions will start to be released.

With the combined practice of building strength as well as learning a specific rhythm to the movements  a subtle shift starts to take place with the focus of the mind being directed internally.

General Hatha Yoga with Trish

Hatha Yoga is a balance of the mind and spirit.

My classes incorporate breath awareness,body movement, calmness of mind and relaxation.Through this practice one nutures their entire body.

Kudalini Yoga Classes with Ruth

Kundalini’ comes from Sanskrit which basically means the coiled energy in the spine which lives in everyone. When one does yoga this energy rises and it creates a catalyst for all forms of self healing and creates a greater level of awareness.

The main difference between Kundalini Yoga and other types of yoga is that Kundalini yoga is a scientific system that combines breathing, movement, stretching, meditation, mantra, and sound which works on the mind, body and spirit.

Kundalini Yoga is a very fast acting yoga which helps us to realise that our true strength comes from within.

Ruth Dogovski/Parmatma Kaur started in the healing industry 14 years ago when she became a reflexologist. This interest in healing continued developing and 7 years ago it led her to Kundalini yoga. “I have tried other forms of yoga; however, I find this is very fast acting and very powerful”.

Meditation and Philosophy Sessions

Krishnamoorthy, a dedicated teacher of meditation with many years experience is now conducting a weekly meditation and philosophy group at the Kalari Healing Centre.

The sessions involve simple and practical teachings for personal development as well as discourses on subjects such are relationships, the soul and reincarnation and your life’s purpose.

Krishnamoorthy was initiated to the study of Vedanta, Yoga and Dhyana (Meditation) at a very young age by his grandfather who was a recognized master, a guru. Also, he practicedyoga and meditation under different gurus in India and gained good understanding. After the completion of graduation, he obtained MA and MPhil in Philosophy and completed PhD. He was teaching the wisdom of the Vedanta since 1995 when he commenced yoga and meditation classes in Melbourne. In 2005, Krishnamoorthy opened up a venue for meditation practices, and it is mainly confined to a closely knitted group of people who are interested in mysticism.  

Last year, Krishnamoorthy published the book, ‘Therefore Lets Meditate’ which analyses the concept of the notion of “I” from different perspectives. From personal experience, he descriptively elucidates various aspects of meditation practices and process that one needs to know in their inward journey. This book has been regarded as motivational and easily comprehensible for beginners as well as those who experience difficulty in practicing meditation. He is working on his second book, “Understanding The Universe: The Fourth Way”.

Peter will be conducting regular courses in Uzhichil Healing as well as weekly classes in Kalaripayyattu.

Kalaripayyattu is considered the worlds oldest martial art. Students will learn the foundation forms that build strong flexible bodies, self discipline and confidence.

The Kalari Healing Centre massage system treats the person as a whole: body, mind and spirit.

It teaches that life is meant to be lived with purpose and vitality. Kalari advocates the appropriate use of food, herbs and exercise to strengthen the body, vigorous marma massage and steam baths to open and cleanse the body of toxins and rejuvenative treatments to harmonise body and mind.
