Bikram Yoga is a revolutionary series of 26 postures (asanas) and 2 breathing exercises (pranayamas) performed in a room heated to 40 degrees Celsius (or body temperature).
 
Each class is 90 minutes and is suitable for all ages and all levels of ability.
 
Each posture in the Bikram method is performed twice and is designed to work through the body systematically. Bikram Yoga is a comprehensive system of health maintenance and diesase pervention.
 
Bikram Yoga will stimulate each organ, gland and nerve, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order.
 
Bikram scientifically designed this 90-minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the human body in order to prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss, and limit the effects of aging.
 
In addition, the series of postures combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control that increase mental clarity and reduce stress.
 
Bikram Yoga is done in a heated room to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout and cleanse the body by flushing toxins. Mirrors are used to observe the body objectively, improving body awareness and refining body alignment. The constant eye contact with yourself reinforces the process as a open eye meditation.
 
The Bikram Yoga class is conducted by a qualified instructor who continuously utilizes a complex, comprehensive and distinctive set of verbal instructions to guide the students through the complete series. This teaches each student to listen, keeps the class moving together and quiets the mind to maintain stillness.
In time you learn to focus your mind and control your breath, leading you to work harder, deeper and yet calmer. As you improve this relationship, you will realise the true meaning of yoga:
