How to Lose The Smell of New Yoga Blankets

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has found a way of getting rid of the smell on standard yoga blankets (bought in bulk from a reputable yoga prop company!).

I have washed them at home in the machine using plenty of detergent and fabric conditioner and line dried them but the smell is as strong as ever and it can be a little off putting for students to use them.

The first lot of blankets I bought were the grey standard yoga blanket, Im pretty sure they were all cotton.

The second lot Ive recently bought, I was sorry to realise, have a more synthetic feel, but both lots from same provider and labelled "standard yoga blanket" ..... they really stink!

I have 20, & I've thought of soaking them or something, bit of a big job, maybe a hot wash would kill it? Any help would be most gratefully received!
