Description

The theme for the next retreat is The Wisdom of "The Four Agreements" written by Don Miguel Ruiz. He has been guided to share with us the powerful teachings of the Toltec. They were known throughout southern Mexico as "women and men of knowledge". I do recommend that you all read this book especially if you do decide to attend the retreat. The book resonated with me and I have embraced the agreements into my daily life. I have enjoyed rereading it and have been reminded of its spirituality. The book does embrace spirit and is most accurately described as a way of life, distinguished by the ready accessibility of happiness and love.
We will be staying at a beautiful 18 bed house called the Sergeant's Mess (from the Army days) with a sea view and also a 9 bed house close by in the Governor's Circle. The verandah is a wonderful place to sit and look at the ocean and back to the mainland and remind ourselves why we are here - spending quality time with ourselves to relax, unwind and connect to our lovely bodies. Our two classes of Yoga and Meditation each day are so much part of loving and caring for ourselves. Our guest Yoga Teacher Nicky Bull is well known to you, that have attended previous retreats and have all enjoyed her bubbly personality. I have attended her classes and know that her Yoga Nidra session and Yoga class will be of a high standard.
The moon celebration on Saturday night is a wonderful way to connect to the energy of the moon while sitting in a circle with each other at the beach. The cycle of the moon is the dark moon at 9.48 on Monday the 21st. Liz Bickley will be conducting Circle Dancing on Sunday night which promises to be lively and fun. Most of the dances are from other Ethnic cultures and not too complicated. The feedback I have had from the women who have attended the retreats in the past is that they have all enjoyed being in Rottnest, loved the Yoga and meditation and all the different themes over the years. I feel that women coming together in community creates a closeness that we are all looking for in our lives. Of course the food cooked with love by Vera and her support women and the laughter that is forever heard throughout the weekend is also so special.
