Description

Seniors are the fastest growing segment of our population with the oldest baby boomers turning 65 this year. Many seniors are looking for ways to remain healthy and active, and yoga can help them to do this.

However, while many older people can achieve great flexibility, this age group also presents with physical and mental challenges, requiring the practice of yoga to be modified to make it accessible.

Stephanie Cunningham specialises in understanding and working with the needs and body changes of older students and the needs of people (not only seniors) with chronic illness or conditions. She possesses solid knowledge of the physical and mental changes that seniors may experience.

This workshop will teach you how to design sequences and classes that work around the seniors’ special requirements while also combating the attrition of the ageing process.

Who is this workshop for?

• Yoga teachers/therapists with an interest in this area

• Trainee yoga teachers

• Serious yoga students who may be interested in the training for the development of their own practice

This workshop is 12 hours of professional development training of direct relevance to yoga teaching.
