Birthlight Baby Yoga Diploma Overview

Baby Yoga refers to a diversified set of gentle interactive practices between a baby and a caring adult for enhancing the wellbeing and development of the baby from birth to the third year. 

The birthlight Baby Yoga course was developed by the Founder and Director of birthlight, Francoise Barbira Freedman, who was inspired by her experience of living with forest people in the Amazon region of Peru, her research background in medical anthropology, and most of all, as a mother of 4. 

The Baby Yoga Diploma course trains teachers to facilitate the mutual enjoyment of parents and babies and creative play between them, with all the health benefits that are derived from these harmonising practices.

Course Structure

The course consists of three modules:

The second module is self-practice over a period of approximately six months. During this time students assimilate the contents of Part 1 and set up their own practise classes, completing course work, as well as observing other teachers in their areas.

The third module, Part 2: 2 days. The co- director of birthlight and of Teaching. Sally is a highly qualified teacher and the Director of Joyful Babies (previously called Birthlight Cambridge). She is a birthlight Perinatal Yoga, Baby Yoga, Aqua Yoga, Infant Aquatics, YogaCise and SMART Toddler Yoga birthlight Tutor and travels the world including Singapore, Russia Turkey and Germany teaching these courses. She also has experience as a counsellor, Montessori teacher, and Active Birth Teacher, the producer of the birthlight "Singing Babies DVD" and has trained and worked with Francoise Freedman closely for many years.
