Teaching yoga consists of more than simply the skills required to perform asanas correctly or knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ultimately, the path to teaching yoga with awareness and understanding involves deepening your own practice.
Byron Yoga Centre’s 12-day Teacher Training Course in Byron is Part A of the fully accredited (Yoga Alliance) course. It is designed to deliver holistic training that encompasses the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the yogic path. Part B is conducted by correspondence or could be completed by study at Byron Yoga Centre by staying an additional 8 days. The Part B non-residential option is included in the cost.
The course is completed by correspondence after the intensive at a personal pace, for as long as the trainee needs.
Training Location – Byron Yoga Centre, Byron Bay
Established in 1988 by John Ogilvie, Byron Yoga Centre is one of the longest running yoga schools in Australia. Located near the beach in Byron Bay and a short walk from town.
The lead teachers have over 20 years of knowledge and expertise each.
John Ogilvie founder and director of Byron Yoga, John has been teaching yoga for over twenty years. He encourages a light heartedness in our approach to yoga and to ourselves.

Schedule
Students need to arrive on the afternoon of the first day to settle into their accommodation. The first session starts at 4.00pm.
The course finishes on the last day at 11.00am.

Part A
Byron Yoga Centre’s 12-day Teacher Training Course is part One of the fully accredited (Yoga Alliance) course. It is designed to deliver holistic training that encompasses the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the yogic path.
Part B
Part B is conducted by correspondence (the correspondence begins 4 weeks before course commencement date, then continues at a personal pace for as long as the trainee needs). Part B is included in the cost.
Part B can also be completed in an 8 day residential following straight on from any 12-day Teacher Training Intensive Course in Byron Bay which would enable graduates to complete the course and receive their certificate. The cost is $1380 and includes accommodation, food, daily classes, private mentor, supervised public teaching and final assessment.
Food
Food at The Byron Yoga Centre is market fresh. Enjoy healthy and delicious vegetarian cuisine, organic wherever possible, and designed along Ayurvedic principles to be light and cleansing.

Stay in comfortable twin/triple share rooms with shared bathroom facilities.
*Accommodation venue will be advised 4 weeks before the course commencement.
