Stillness and gentle art of stretching deeply
Yin Yoga is a wonderful compliment to our active (yang oriented) lives, dynamic asana practice and maturing bodies. It encourages a quiet, deep felt connection to ‘being’ and unlocks hidden natural flexibility in your connective tissues and joints.
During this 2½ hr class, postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes (not the usual 3 to 5 breaths) utilising yoga props for support then gradually reducing or removing them to allow a deeper stretch. This restorative style of yin practice ensures a safe and gentle transition into the postures. It also promotes quiet introspection, tolerance and develops our ability to calmly 'observe' without reacting.
My new introductory level class is ideal for students with no prior Yin Yoga experience or those whose joints need a little extra care and support. Please join me to explore a new way to feel light, graceful and at ease in your body and mind.
The class is strictly limited to 12 participants to ensure adequate personal assistance.
Glenda Ford also teaches a monthly, general level Yin Yoga class, please check the events page on this website for details.
