Journey into Yoga and Indian Vegetarian Cooking

Saturday 17th of November 2012

@ Inner Balance Sanctuary, Byron Bay

with Special Guest Cook from India Raksha Patel

India has the world’s longest and richest tradition of vegetarian cooking and is the motherland of Yoga. We will take you on a journey into this enriching custom guided by two yogis who have lived and experienced these ancient sciences.

This Mini Retreat includes a 3 hour cooking workshop with our special guest, Raksha Patel. Madhava & Shyamala will share with us their dynamic and inspiring way of teaching in the yoga classes. All this in the beauty and uplifting energy of the Inner Balance Sanctuary in Suffolk Park.

Raksha Patel, was born into a traditional Gujarati family in India. She was trained in cooking at a very early age within the Gurukula system of learning where knowledge is passed from teacher to student in a direct way. You could say cooking is in her blood. Now living in London Raksha has been part of the Sivananda Organisation for the last 10 years where she has been regularly cooking and teaching cooking workshops at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in London. She frequently cooks for Special Programs and the Sivananda Yoga Teachers' Training Courses in London and France as well as teaching cooking workshops around the UK. Coming all the way from London to share her knowledge of delightful Indian cuisine cooked in the yogic style, we are very happy to have her join us for this one time only event.

A perfect mini-break to immerse yourself in pure and traditional yoga. 2 yoga classes, meditative nature walk, a 3 hour cooking workshop and a delicious lunch, the company of like minded people all in 1 Day.
